Vern Glenn, Sports Director at KPIX

Our November 3 lunch meeting will feature Vern Glenn, Sports Director at KPIX/CBS News Bay Area. He joined in June of 2012 after a 23 year run with Gary Radnich at KRON. He is in his 37th year of television in the Bay Area and has picked up six Emmy Awards in the last 8 years for Best Sportscaster.

In 2024, Vern co-founded the Vern Glenn Invitational, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports kids and families from diverse, underserved backgrounds, families of fallen first responders, and bullied kids who are victims of violence in schools and at home.

Vern was recognized by NFL Alumni NorCal and given the 2026 “RC Owens, Helping Hands Award” for his community service.

He earned the nickname “Mr. Involvement” for literally throwing himself in his feature stories. Vern began his 41 year broadcasting career in 1985 in his hometown of Richmond, Va.

An Eagle Scout, Vern graduated from the University of Virginia in 1984 and lives in Marin County.
